			<link>http://www.amarc2002.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=1549&amp;Itemid=2</link>
			<description>

We enjoyed another evening meeting on Tuesday night. The weather was set fair, the BBQ was good, plus beer and soft drinks provided by the club. Thanks to Ron and Stan for cooking and preparing the food. Also thanks to one of our newer members who worked very hard repairing the topper on the rear of the Tractor. The wind was a slight problem, adding some turbulance at times. There was a reasonable turn out of members who actually flew planes.

			<description>Welcome to the AMARC web site. We fly from our own fully owned site. The club has been in existence for over Forty Five years and generally has a membership of between Seventy and Ninety members. If you are interested in finding out more about our club, then feel free to come along to one of our regular meetings. Entry is free, you do not need to be a AMARC member to attend a meeting. Look at the News Flash box to see where and when the next meeting will take place.

AMARC2002 holds club meetings during the winter months at various venues. Meetings start at 8pm and guests or potential members can come along to meet us there. During the Summer months, we hold evening meetings on the field and generally enjoy a BBQ

 AMARC2002 own a flying site situated in the Gordano Valley, between Portishead and Clevedon. A map is available. The location map can be found by clicking the Info tab/about us, then location. We have planning permission in full to allow 365 day flying. This is subject to club rules and we have to meet strict conditions with respect to the wild life around the site. All members are expected to adhere to the rules at this site.

AMARC2002 welcomes new members after they have met a member of the club committee at Gordano, read, understood and signed a prospectus agreeing to abide by the club rules and BMFA guidelines. We no longer accept unapproved membership applications.

Guest Fliers are always welcome to join us, Guest fliers MUST be current BMFA members AND carry their card with them when on AMARC sites. If they do not possess an A , they must be accompanied at all times when in possession of an aircraft by the inviting member who will have cleared their visit with the Chair, Vice chair, Treasurer or Secretary beforehand. They are limited to a MAXIMUM of Two visits per year and are the members sole responsibility.

AMARC2002 provide all the creature comforts necessary for relaxing, tea and coffee making facilities are available and all this in a tranquil country setting.

Hi all this may or may not apply to you individually but please note the following;

It has been brought to my attention yet again that certain members are using the facilities available at Gordano with scant regard for who follow on. The club does not employ staff to clean up after you, make tea for you or provide refreshments of any kind,

			<description>

I will concentrate on two sites that I know well and both are very local to Bristol.When the winds are howling enough to put you off flying on the flat fields then it should be windy enough for Slope Soaring and here are some worthwhile hills to visit, anything blowing from the South West or West and around 20 MPH plus(that&amp;rsquo;s 4-5 on the Beaufort scale) will do but this will depend on what model you wish to fly and I will go into that later.

The club auction proved to be a good success, with an estimated 50 plus members turning up. Content was down on last year, having said that, bidding on most items was good. See the pics of the various items of interest. Jenny cooked 2 Sponges, one to eat and the other to raffle which fetched a bid of &amp;pound;5.00. Guess who had the Lions share of the cake?.Ron and Chris acted as auctioneers, with Pete keeping tabs on the money. Once again, a very successful evening.
