Tony has uploaded a new forum for members to road test. You will need to register. Use your your existing username and password to create the new account, or create a totally new username and password, it's up to you. Link www.amarc2002.co.uk/smf/
This is a plea for willing volunteers to have a play with 'the new forum' installed today. Don't panic though it isn't replacing the one you know and love.... well not yet anyway!
As some of you are aware I will be relieving Barry of his long standingwebmaster duties in due course, but I intend to revamp the wholewebsite from the ground up. Most likely though it will be in phases, and I intend to cause minimal dispruption especially to the forumcommunity
I wouuld really appreciate it if the regular forum users could register for the new forum www.amarc2002.co.uk/smf/and make a few posts and look at the features to see if it is what youare all used to. BEFORE you ask WHY!? do I want to change the forumwhich is perfectly good as it is.. the answer is that it is a plug-inmodule to the current website framework which for good reason I want todo away with. Unfortunately this module is not exportable and thereforeI have had to source an alternative solution. Hopefully I have foundit, but I am not much of a forum user and that's why I need your input.
The forum is highly configurable and there are plug-ins and additionalfeatures that can be added which I have yet to investigate. So pleasejump in and let me know what you think. And please post any feedback...on the NEW forum of course!!
